Cherupushpa mission league (cml) was officially inaugurated at the east ham mass centre on the 6th july 2014 by rev. Fr. Jose anthiyamkulam, chaplain of syro malabar church, brent wood diocese, in presence of trustees mr.paul kuruvilla, mrs.josy shajan, committe members, catechism teachers, students and all the members gathered. It was also the very same day the mass centre celebrated the feast of st. Alphonsa of bharananganam where cherupushpa mission league was originally founded. During this occasion every child from the catechism classes were given the cml badges and officially became the members of the organisation. They also took a pledge to endorse the motto of cml in their life for the creation of a better community.
Cherupushpa mission league (cml) is an indigenous lay missionary organisation and also the biggest missionary organisation for laity in asia. Cml was started under the guidance and blessings of the bishop of the changanacherry arch diocese mar james kaalassery, in the year 1947 at bharananganam by the living legend of kerala church – kunjettan (mr. P.c. Abraham pallaattukunnel) and late v. Rev. Fr. Joseph malipparambil who was the founder director of cml. Cherupushpa mission league was founded to foster vocation promotion and also to help mission activities across the country by means of man, money and prayers.
